Developing a Creative Mind

The development of a creative mind, I find, is a relatively easy thing to achieve. Just how creative is up to the individual. It takes desire [willingness], intent, and as much time as you allow. Surprisingly, I found it is not an “intense” thing…. more of a pleasurable game to play with myself.

Once my desire was strong enough, I declared my intent to myself  ”I am very creative in the area of….”, “I get new ideas about….” You can roll your own for this…. keep it strong, definite, and in the now.

The game: This can be concentrated on a bit before going to sleep. Then watch the ideas filter in during the day. Congratulate yourself when they arrive…this is something you want to reinforce until it becomes habitual. My preferred method is to sit relaxed with my coffee, pad and pen, and jot down anything that comes concerning my subject…. it is not unusual to get 6-12 workable ideas in half an hour.

There are other methods, of course. An intense focus on a particular subject works well for some. There are probably as many variations of this as there are individuals. Feel free to email me is you would like to share your method here.

To refine a method, use it often, and don’t discard ideas that at first may seem a bit silly or beyond your abilities. Trust your self, Self, and have fun with it.

Working with Weather

“At this point Grandfather pulls me back into his realm, where I find myself shape-shifted into the storm itself.

“My intention had been to transfigure into Storm’s divinity-maybe I have and maybe I haven’t-but I can feel Storm Spirit’s energy and personality. Its power is dazzling, and I am moved by the beauty of its lightning and tornadic fingers. As part of the storm, I can feel an intense desire to contact the earth. I feel a sense of searching for where to touch ground, for those places where energy is lacking or where there is too much power locked up. I realize how the intense rains connect the storm to earth. I revel in the storm’s ecstasy of carrying out its purpose for being. At last I fully return to myself, still in Grandfather’s domain. As I thank him, he repeats, “All you can do is to honor…” “

That is a quote from Weather Shamanism, by Nan Moss with David Corbin, subtitled Harmonizing Our Connection With the Elements. It can be very informative to one who is new to this subject. However, for actually working with weather, Peter Calhoun’s Soul on Fire was one of those books that jumped off the shelf at me, knocked my socks off, and left me in awe.

My Body

My body is merely the expression of the thoughts that flow thru me.

The Creation of God

Intrinsically man recognizes his relationship with a Source; whether his is conscious of it or not… that relationship as an active communication seems long lost.

In its stead man seems to establish a god as God, made after mans image. In this process mankind selects what attributes he wants this god to display.

Those who enjoy the thrill of fear instill their god with attributes that invoke fear in themselves.

Those who are ready to accept full responsibility for themselves and their actions establish a god who commands… an authoritarian figure; someone who will direct and\or intercede for them.

To me these seem to be two basic ways most of western civilization\religion create their God.

Yet, when one has finally touched the heart of the Source, he\she is left with the realization that the attributes of fear and authoritarianism projected onto a god figure are but human attributes …. attributes that are “merely” learning steps in drawing nearer to the Source.

When one finally touches the heart of the Source…. that touching allows all the limitations of religion and created gods to coalesce coalesce into the background of past learning experience….
